When Moroni appeared to Joseph Smith on 21 September 1823, “he quoted the eleventh chapter of Isaiah, saying that it was about to be fulfilled” (Joseph Smith—History 1:40). Nephi quoted the same chapter of Isaiah in 2 Nephi 21.
